What is the pressure of the Type 5 pressure inter-modal tank?

100-500 psi

Pressure ratings for intermodal tanks are about how much internal pressure the container is built to safely handle during transport. Type 5 intermodal tanks are designed for moderate-pressure service, so their design pressure sits in a mid-range rather than very low or extremely high. That’s why the correct range is 100-500 psi. This range suits the needs of transporting compressed gases that require more protection than a non-pressurized container but do not demand the ultra-high pressures found in some other tank types. The other options are outside this typical design window: pressures like 25 psi or 80 psi are too low for most intermodal gas shipments, and 3000-5000 psi is reserved for much higher-pressure systems, not Type 5 intermodal tanks.

25 psi or less

3000-5000 psi
